An unidentified person allegedly stole the gold jewellery of a woman under the pretext of helping her as she was fatally wounded in the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus accident in Mumbai, police said on Thursday.
The death toll in the BEST bus accident in Mumbai has risen to seven, officials on Tuesday said as experts inspected the wet leased vehicle to ascertain if it had any mechanical fault.
Police have registered a case on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the driver of a BEST bus involved in an accident in Mumbai which claimed six lives and left 43 others injured, officials said on Tuesday.

The video clips, which went viral on social media, show passengers panicking as the electric bus ran amok, hitting vehicles and pedestrians on Monday night. More, who had limited experience driving electric vehicles, has been arrested for culpable homicide and remanded in police custody.
The Mumbai Regional Transport Office (RTO) officials have said they suspect 'human error' and 'lack of proper training' led to the horrific accident in Kurla where a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus fatally knocked down seven persons and injured 42 others.
